Applications
An operator in Brunei needed cement squeeze into a 9 5/8" annulus (B annulus) and 13 3/8" annulus (C annulus) simultaneously, and Coretrax provided a single trip perf and squeeze BHA solution.
Solution and Achievement
The perforations were required from 289m up to 282m and the upper annuluses were open ended.
Initially a drillable Coretrax CX-2 bridge plug was run on drillpipe, then set and pressure tested at 301m to act as a base for the cement. After this was completed, the string was tripped out of the hole and the single trip BHA was picked up which consisted of pressure set guns and a drillable Coretrax CX-SV cement retainer valve. With the BHA at depth, the CX-SV was hydromechanically set at 280, pressure tested and then the string was pressured up to fire the guns below the CX-SV which simultaneously perforated the 40# 9 5/8" and 72# 13 3/8" casings. The rig then pumped down the work string and below the set CX-SV to confirm the successful perforations and then squeezed a pre-determined amount of cement that was displaced into the B and C annuluses and a further amount of cement on top of the already set and tested CX-2 bridge plug. The rig then pulled the work string up 2m +/- to remove the stringer from the CX-SV in order to close the internal sliding sleeve and a further volume of cement was dropped on top of the CX-SV. The running string was POOH and the CX-SV stinger laid out.
