MechMACS
The Mechanical MACS™ Multi Activation Circulation Sub is a mid-string circulating tool. It can be run in milling, drilling and wellbore clean-up strings to improve circulation and assist with hole cleaning, without compromising pressures in the well.
As the ideal tool for wells where the geometry creates the risk of solids accumulation, it is activated by setting down weight on the liner top with a string mill, or by tagging total depth.
It has two primary positions; when stroked open, fluid flow can be directed through the ports and into the annulus, providing an increased TFA (through flow area) when required. This allows turbulent flow to significantly improve solids removal.
The second position, where the tool is closed, directs flow from the drill pipe to the annulus via the bit. This allows full circulation through the entire string, preventing back pressure.
