Expro has launched Maestro®, a modular well test platform combining automation and remote control while keeping people at the center of critical decision-making.
A full Maestro® deployment can reduce red-zone exposure by up to 67%, helping keep personnel away from complex operations around live well-test equipment.
The launch comes as energy companies look to automate more high-risk operations while retaining human oversight of critical decisions, a theme set to feature prominently at ADIPEC 2026. Traditional well-test operations often rely on manually intensive processes and routine intervention. Maestro® combines automation, real-time visibility and decision support in a modular platform designed to reduce operational complexity across onshore and offshore environments.
Maestro® is underpinned by Expro’s Verified Decision Control (VDC) approach, which keeps people in control of critical decisions. The system uses data and automation to monitor well-test conditions and propose a response. Real-time visibility and automated alerts help experienced personnel identify potential operational issues, make informed decisions faster and confirm what happens next.
Andrei Ion, Vice President of Well Flow Management at Expro, said:
“The energy industry is moving quickly towards more automated operations, but automation should not mean removing human judgement from critical decisions.
“Maestro® has been designed to help operators embrace automation while maintaining visibility and control. Our aim with it is simple: reduce people out of hazardous environments, not out of decisions.”
“Customers trust the skills and experience of our people. Maestro® builds on that expertise, using automation in an effort to improve safety and operational performance while keeping experienced well-test personnel in control of what happens next.”
Its modular design allows Maestro® to be configured for different projects, assets and operating environments. The system builds on Expro’s existing EDGE and Data to Desk technology, providing real-time well-test data, monitoring and remote access.
