In Riser Monitoring System
Expro’s In Riser Monitoring System (EIRMS) is a standalone solution designed to accurately and reliably capture dynamic loads affecting subsea equipment near the flex-joint area.
This compact, memory-based unit features an integrated electronics package—including sensors, batteries, and a data logger—strategically positioned just above the Blowout Preventer (BOP) flex joint
Once deployed, the system collects raw voltage data, which is then converted into strain measurements and used to calculate dynamic loads such as tension, bending, and pressure. All data is time-stamped for precise analysis.
The recorded information can be correlated with surface measurements and sea state conditions, enabling a deeper understanding of actual versus theoretical values. This insight supports the development of more accurate global riser analysis models and enhances assessments of design life and fatigue capacity.
