Reline MNS Successfully Isolates Over 2,100ft of Corrosion in the San Andres Formation

Problem

A West Texas operator discovered corrosion on a lease holding well in the Permian Basin. Historical attempts to remediate with cement squeezes were performed without success or longevity of the remediation.

Solution and Achievement

The Coretrax team deployed the 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” ReLine MNS shoeless expandable liner system to isolate the affected well section and maximize ID compared to traditional flush joint liner installations. No drillout was required, ensuring the well could be put back online in a timely manner, with production continuing as normal due to the readily available artificial lift solutions on the market.

Prior to this solution, the only other option considered by the operator was well abandonment. Through use of the ReLine MNS system, remediation was achieved and the well was brought back online, ultimately avoiding requirement for a new well and allowing for a greater ROI than initially forecasted.
