Case Study

Coretrax utilizes single trip solution in MENA to reduce rig time and completion costs

In Brief

Two-trip system successfully consolidated into a single optimized run in MENA

Product Line

Customer Challenges

  • The customer had a preset well they wanted to complete within a cement liner. Before installing the upper completion, several preparatory operations were required
  • These included positive and negative pressure testing, the running of full WBCU assembly, casing pickling, PBR polishing, and drilling the float equipment (landing collar, float collar, and cement) up to 20ft above the float shoe
  • Traditionally, this process would have required multiple runs, including:
    • A 3 5/8” Bit drilling assembly o Full WBCU and packer assembly
    • A Polish mill trip
  • To help reduce both operational time and overall costs, Expro was engaged to optimize the runs and streamline the process

Expro Excellence

  • Expro deployed an efficient and innovative single trip solution
  • This design integrated the CX-LTTT inflow test packer with a polish mill and employed CXtravel joints, enabling the drilling of float equipment, cement, and completion of wbcu operations in a single trip continuous run
  • This streamlined approach minimized trips, reduced rig time, and lowered the overall completion costs

Value to Client

  • Expro successfully drilled 126ft of hard cement and float equipment
  • We completed the liner top polishing to specification
  • We performed the negative pressure test with full integrity confirmation
  • Expro consolidated the conventional two-trip system into a single optimized run, saving rig time and reducing logistical complexity
