In-riser subsea well control operations where shearing and sealing of coiled tubing is required have traditionally required a two-valve mechanism: one to shear and one to seal. Using two valves to shear and seal coiled tubing takes time, and using additional tools adds an extra layer of risk.

In our view, when it came to demands for greater efficiency and simplicity in shearing and sealing braided wireline, slickline, and coiled tubing, many conventional systems didn’t seem to cut it.
