Problem
A Texas based operator encountered a leak in 13-3/8” 54.5# casing through a wellhead restriction on a cavern storage well. Until the leak could be isolated, the well was offline resulting in significant downtime.
Solution and Achievement
The Coretrax team deployed the ReLine HYD casing patch to isolate the leak and meet the integrity requirements for returning the well to storage.
The expandable tubular technology provides a long-term integrity solution with minimal loss of diameter effectively maximizing production.
The technology was customized ahead of deployment to ensure the operator’s underground hydrocarbon storage facility could return online in a strict lead time, as cost efficiently as possible.
More than 60 feet of liner was safely installed through the wellhead restriction and tested to ensure regulated flow and reservoir integrity. This allowed the cavern storage well to return to service following pressure tests and satisfactory remediation results.
