Customer Challenges
- The customer contacted Expro as we were recognized in the Egyptian market for our broad experience at providing production optimization and solutions on a fast track basis
- The customer’s biggest challenge was finding a suitable production separator to operate as a Free Water Knockout (FWKO) Drum that would meet their process requirements within a tight schedule
- This is a long-standing customer who had previously worked with our Well Flow Management product line on well testing operations but were now looking for a fast track approach to their challenge
- The customer was facing production issues as they wanted to remove their main production FWKO Drum out of service for maintenance purposes. To do this they needed a reliable and complete modular package to process 5,000 BOPD, 45,000 BWPD and 6.8mmscf/d to an exacting process requirement
- We were able to provide a three-phase separator package converted for use as an FWKO on a fast track basis enabling the client to maintain their target production rates
Expro Excellence
- Expro provided engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a three-phase separator (FWKO) with a total capacity equal to 50,000 barrels of liquid per day in addition to 6.8 mmscf/d of gas
- We offered a fast track deployment with additional separator capabilities allowing a complete internal sand jetting system to clean and remove any accumulated sludges, sand or debris inside the vessel and thermally insulated oil and gas lines
- From the preliminary engineering phase, we worked with several stakeholders, managing any challenges and meeting the customer’s requirements and timeline
- The consequences for the customer would have been to shut down their production facility, resulting in a production loss of 175,000 BPD due to the schedule of maintenance of their FWKO vessel
- Expro made the fast track concept a reality. Modifying an existing three phase production separator to deliver a FWKO to their process requirements
Value to Client
- Through the fast track deployment of our modified production separator we avoided any nonproductive time caused by the offline maintenance of the existing FWKO
- We exceeded the customer’s expectations in terms of the oil in water ppm and in the water in oil percentage process specifications
- As well as enhancing the quality of produced water with the design of their FWKO vessel
