Customer Challenges

  • A major geothermal operator in the Netherlands was seeking to undertake workover operations on their production well including flushing, casing patches, ESP installation and slickline runs
  • All operations were required to be conducted using a rigless approach
  • The customer had a focus on zero NPT and HSE issues for this project

Expro Excellence

  • Expro deployed a Rigless Intervention Unit (RIU) with pick up/lay-down services and Tubular Running Services to execute the workover operations
  • Operations included dressing the polished bore receptacle, running and setting the packer and seal stamp, completing scraper and pressure tests, and installing two patches
  • The casing and ESP pump were pulled from the well and re-run with control lines.  Mud was effectively managed and red-zone exposure was reduced through best practice and our advanced technologies
  • This well was displaced, junk baskets were run, emergency packer was set and released, returns taken to the surface, and slickline runs were completed
