A customer in Oman experienced Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) failures on two of their offshore platform production wells
Working over the wells to replace the ESPs to re-instate production would be costly and time consuming
The customer had available gas capacity to re-inject on the Platform, so they contacted Expro to model and propose a retrofit gas lift solution for the two wells
Expro Excellence
Expro modeled the retrofit gas lift solution for both wells in five days
The solution avoided the need to contract a jack up rig to perform the well workovers
The solution was mobilized in fourteen days
The Slickline deployed, non-hazmat Kinley Perforator system is able to be mobilized by air, sea and land to any location around the world without the need for dangerous good declarations or permits
Three runs were performed in the two wells installing Orifice Check Valves with sizes 12/64”, 14/64”and 16/64”
Value to Client
This solution resulted in the two wells being brought back into production in the most operationally efficient manner possible
When production was re-instated the first well flowed at a rate of 3,500 Bbls/ day and the second well flowed at a rate of 4,000 Bbls/day
The rigless retrofit solution enabled the customer to avoid costly and time consuming workovers with a Jack-up Rig
