Rack Back Console
Winner of the 2020 E&P Special Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation (HSE category), the Rack Back Console is designed to control elevators and spiders to build double, triple, or quad stands for racking back in the derrick.
Features and Benefits
- Runs a pre-programmed sequence and prevents the elevator and spider from operating outside the sequence, reducing the potential for dropped joints or stands
- Provides both RUN and PULL modes for building and laying out stands
- Programming drum provides visual labels for the operator to reference as needed, indicating which sequence step is currently in progress
- Requires CAM tech or tong operator’s confirmation of proper connection make-up before advancing
